Joshua Tree Wedding | Erica + Morgan, October 2017

Morgan & Erica had me at their first intro.  "We care deeply about social justice and equality and about our 10-year old pup. Our wedding is set to be the most fun day with all our closest friends getting silly in the desert together, and we love your fun, candid, honest photos." Morgan & Erica met 8 years ago working at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and fell in love over visits and book club meetings. They took a trip to central California a few years later, drank gin and stayed in a yurt, and the rest is history.

The three of us met for coffee in Los Angeles during a trip I made to photograph another wedding, and between sharing their custom letterpress suite (designed around the desert and their beloved pug, Danica), laughing about shared past experiences of nausea-inducing boat rides in Iceland, and above all feeling the enormity of their love and care for one another over such a brief meeting, I felt instantly connected to these two amazing women. Witnessing Morgan & Erica's wedding celebration in the magical autumn desert was a true privilege and a highlight of 2017. Thank you both for the effort in getting to each other, in making me feel like a part of your guest list, and for sharing such kind words of affirmation leading up to and after your celebration. You truly are the reason I love what I do. <3
